September Birthday Heroes Celebration

On September 20th, the Birthday Heroes from North River were able to host four parties for the children at Youth Villages in Douglasville! The girls participated in a special activity to celebrate the fall season by making leaf t-shirts. Before we arrived, the girls collected leaves from the trees on their campus. These leaves would create the image on their shirt. The Birthday Heroes were amazed by the thought the girls put into finding leaves! Some found a big leaf that created a heart shape. Some put several together and some found interesting oak and maple --shaped leaves. By placing the leaves on the shirts and spraying them with bleach, beautiful, unique shirts were created! Thank you to Susan Adkins for her donation to make this activity possible for the girl residents at Janie’s House at Youth Villages!

Every party celebrated fall by doing leaf rubbings, fall activities charades, playing "Don’t ‘Leaf’ the Square," and enjoying fall leaf cupcakes!
